Senior Financial Analyst – Hybrid – MontrealWe’re currently hiring for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing team in Montreal!Who We Are:Aspire Software, the operational arm of Valsoft Corp, operates and manages Valsoft’s global portfolio of wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time-sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.The ideal candidate will be based in Montreal, working in a hybrid setting that combines remote work and in-office presence at our location in Saint-Laurent.What You’ll Be Doing:Financial Reporting:
- Preparation and review of the financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets for each division.
- Ensure that all financial information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with accounting principles and relevant regulations.
- Participation in the completion of audit engagements and compliance requirements. Participate in the IFRS transition.
Monthly Close:
- Perform tasks for the monthly account closing, such as GL reconciliations, journal entry booking, analysis of the profit and loss statement, review of bank reconciliations, process improvements, and documentation of financial procedures.
Financial Analysis:
- The Senior Financial Analyst conducts in-depth financial analysis, comparing actual performance against budgeted figures and providing variance analysis.
- Identify financial trends, opportunities, and potential risks, enabling management to make informed decisions to improve divisional performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain the annual budgeting process, including revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather relevant data and assumptions.
- Regularly update forecasts based on actual performance and market trends.
What You Bring:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
- Proficiency, both written and verbal, in the English language is essential
- Knowledge of the accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
- 3-4 years of experience in an accounting/finance role (experience in a Big 4 preferred)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
