We are looking for a smart and creative communications professional, with a go-getter attitude to join our Corporate Communications team in London. You will be a key member of the Communications team at AB, responsible for executing internal communications messaging for EMEA as well as assisting in major EMEA PR initiatives to deliver high-impact results, along with supporting media initiatives in APAC. You will report into the Director of Communications for EMEA.This is a varied role as the position will support AB’s internal communications themes and tasks, including firm-wide Town Halls. They will be responsible for local digital signage and the curation and execution of the AB’s EMEA newsletter, as well as assisting with the messaging across AB’s corporate social media channels working closely with the Head of EMEA.This person will assist in the execution of the day-to-day Media Relations strategy within EMEA, aligned to marketing and distribution goals across the region. This requires working closely with the local sales and marketing teams, while providing regular updates to the Head of EMEA Marketing.Additionally, the individual will aid with reviewing the communications outreach in APAC alongside the Director of Communications for EMEA. The media/marketing team based in APAC will execute the day-to-day activities, but this individual will overview content and campaigns to ensure positioning and messaging is aligned globally.This role includes cultivating and managing media relationships with top-tier, trade outlets, supporting dynamic and innovative campaigns that elevate AB’s thought leadership and expertise. In addition to, and working closely with, portfolio managers to shape and communicate their message to external audiences. While this role sits within Corporate Communications, it will work collaboratively across a broad range of Strategic Business Units and departments globally.RESPONSIBILTIESNo day is the same in this role. Within it you will work across Internal Communications promoting the firm’s culture, Social Media, and Media Relations:
- Support Town Hall and Internal Communications efforts as needed, liaising with Head of EMEA on key messages to deliver
- Support digital signage in London offices across the globe,
- Curate, draft, and deliver AB EMEA’s newsletter to promote firm news and culture, working with the Head of EMEA on areas of focus
- Liaise with Head of EMEA on key messages to deliver
- Assist and support in developing strategies and executing proactive media strategies
- Day-to-day frontline media relations including cultivating and managing relationships with key news outlets and journalists
- Work closely with portfolio managers and senior leadership, both locally and globally, to better communicate their message to external audiences
- Review messaging and outreach for the APAC region
- Communicating with marketing and sales team on updates and ensuring strategies are aligned
- Monitor the news for industry/market trends and developments
- Write collateral for media events/interviews (e.g. backgrounders, talking points, press releases, pitches, etc.)
- Collaborate with editorial and marketing departments to develop thought leadership
- Consistently monitor, evaluate and inform the team on the latest trends and news cycle
- Identify opportunities to grow our media presence
- Work with analytics to provide timely and informative reporting
- Creating content for social media channels and helping with daily posts and monthly campaigns
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years’ related experience in either in-house or agency media relations experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Experience in building and executing media campaigns
- Will have a good relationship with key trade journalists
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Ability to build partnerships both in-person and virtually
- Demonstrated ability to be a flexible, proactive, creative problem-solver and self-starter
- Ability to speak with courage and conviction and hold others to deadlines
- Affinity for corporate communications
- Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts in a matrixed environment

- Strong foundational knowledge of financial services industry and an interest to learn more

- Excellent external relationship building skills
- Highly collaborative individual
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Expertise in media pitching and writing press releases,
- Creating compelling social content
- Working knowledge of PR tech applications, including Roxhill, Signal AI and Meltwater
