MSCI ESG & Climate Research, part of MSCI Inc., is seeking a 6-month ESG Issuer Relations Intern based in Singapore to support the ESG Issuer Relations team in the APAC region.The intern will play a crucial role in assisting APAC issuers in understanding MSCI ESG & Climate assessments through issuer communication events and educational materials. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in data tools such as Python and Excel, fluent English skills, and an interest in sustainability and investment themes.This role offers an exciting opportunity to integrate sustainability themes into operational tasks in a rapidly growing market. The internship is for 6 months, with a possibility of extension to 9 months.
- Plan and execute key initiatives to help APAC issuers understand MSCI ESG & Climate assessments through issuer communication events and educational materials.
- Provide research support to senior analysts.
- Conduct data analysis to optimize internal products and present findings to relevant teams.
- Own and manage one or two defined projects that contribute to APAC ESG & Climate team’s product development or information resource management.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong background in data analysis, modeling, and research.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Python, Power BI, Salesforce, GIS, R is a plus.
Sustainability & ESG Knowledge
- General awareness of current ESG issues.
- Strong interest in news and market research related to ESG and sustainability.
Communication & Teamwork
- Ability to multi-task and efficiently present results to internal groups.
- Strong team player who can also work independently without constant supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in economics, sustainability, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Previous internship experience in sustainability is preferred, such as:
- ESG Research or corporate social responsibility.
- Relevant financial services experience with exposure to ESG investment.
- Public policy, academic, or NGO experience related to sustainability.
Applicant Eligibility
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Must be currently enrolled in a university degree or program for the entire duration of the internship.
- Must be able to commit at least 6 months (3 days per week), preferably 9 months (5 days per week).
