Our client is looking for an Application Support Analyst on a 6-month contract basis position with a potential for long-term extensions to join their growing organization.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct software and system testing in conjunction with application vendors and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and support application services, with accountability for production reliability and usage, and the delivery of new functionality.
  • Demonstrate broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems and identifying opportunities.
  • Provide support in the development of standards for use by internal staff and third-party strategic vendors.
  • Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities.
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with the organizational technology roadmap.
  • Design and document technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces, and integrations.
  • Perform initial problem analysis and troubleshooting on problems or situations of a simple to complex nature.
  • Provide support for application installation and patch update processes.
  • Ensure compliance by third-party partners on the change management process as needed through testing, development, or deployment tasks.
  • Define and coordinate software installation and small development project plans, including estimates, scope, schedule, and implementation plans.
  • Lead, coordinate, and execute system support activities for a global portfolio of applications in compliance with defined SLAs.
  • Coordinate reporting and batch processes to ensure that application content is updated and available.
  • Assess the application environment for opportunities for operational improvement and standardization.
  • Provide technical recommendations on opportunities for cost efficiencies and operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports, manuals, and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of the application portfolio.
  • Understand industry trends and best practices to provide recommendations on technical improvements, and highlight risks, or opportunities for new technology implementations.
  • Lead planning and execution of changes for business applications environments.
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and system owners globally in the deployment of software programs and applications.
  • Execute best practices in incident investigation, technical escalation, diagnosis, recovery, documentation, communication, and transition to Problem Management.
  • Support the development of maintenance strategies for the application portfolio.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the organization’s vision, strategy, and business objectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of best practice processes for onboarding of new technologies and solutions into the application portfolio.
  • Contributes to the maturation of the SDLC framework and long-term application portfolio roadmap and strategy.
  • Support development of business application installation and patch update models, frameworks, and standards.
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure compliance with development standards.
  • Design, create, and implement small-scale development solutions to solve technology or business problems.
  • Provide rotation-based on-call support to cross-functional teams and users.
  • Act as subject matter expert in the assessment of impacts for planned application changes and projects, ensuring compliance with relevant organization standards.
  • Provide solutions to prevent recurrence with the end goal of ensuring solid C-SAT.
  • Ensure application stability through incident, change, and problem management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your strengths include:

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology including industry-specific technical certifications.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience including involvement with modernization initiatives.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production support using technologies/frameworks such as DevOps (previous development experience would be beneficial).
  • This position requires knowledge of Cloud Platforms such as MS Azure including experience using collaboration tools and version control tools such as GitHub/GitLab.
  • Ability to support and mentor junior and intermediate team members by sharing knowledge, collaborating, and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated experience with business applications support in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of scripting using SQL, .Net, C#, ASP.Net, and/or HTML would be considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting digital channels such as e-commerce platforms and VR solutions would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical and user documentation.
  • Experience in working with and coordinating onsite or offshore development and maintenance by third-party vendors.
  • Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments.
  • Expert knowledge of ITIL and SDLC processes and practices.
  • Proficient in corrective and preventive maintenance, configuration management, and application performance standards implementation.Expert knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Ability to identify operational and business risks associated with problem situations/outages and provide recommendations on technical improvements or opportunities for modern technology implementations.
  • Knowledge of database design and file management techniques.Solid analytical skills, experience solving practical issues, and engaging cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security practices.
  • Able to develop and maintain key test scripts to validate changes, enhancements, and business continuity requirements for business applications.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to successfully communicate with business partners, management, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Ability to lead discussions with business stakeholders and suggest holistic solutions/improvements for both technical strategy and business processes.
