At Severn Trent we provide the perfect mix between hands-on experience and a formal qualification, enabling our apprentices to make a real lasting difference to our customers and communities, not just for now, but far into the future.As an Apprentice Process Scientist, you’ll be exposed to a wide range of opportunities across Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy. You will work alongside other Process Scientists to review the performance of our Water Treatment Works, participate in water quality improvement activities and support the delivery of operational efficiencies. You’ll have the opportunity to define the future of our Water Treatment Works by working alongside Process Design Engineers to explore and build a breadth of knowledge across teams.You’ll be supporting colleagues to help create a fair and equitable working environment where everyone can succeed by:

  • Collaborative learning within your direct team and across our relevant stakeholders in Water Treatment
  • Creating a culture of trust through your technical development so that you can provide technical advice to operational teams

Provider/ F2F or Online Aston University- F2FENTRY CRITERIAFor this Apprenticeship Programme (Level 6) we require all candidates to have three A Levels at CCC or above including a Have a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including Mathematics, English and a science, technology or engineering related subjectROLE EXPECTATIONS POST APPRENTICESHIPBy the end of this programme, you will take up a role of a Process Scientist.WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across a range of stakeholders and peers
  • Comprehensive IT skills across a range of platforms (e.g. ESCADA, SAP, QUIS) and how these are used to interact with and understand our treatment processes
  • The principles of Water Treatment including chemical and engineering processes
  • How to support the identification and resolution of water quality risks through audits, investigations and root cause analysis
