Job Description:UE07 £40,247 – £47,874 Per Annum.Corporate Services Group / Estates / Maintenance Services.Open Ended Contract – Permanent.Full Time Hour – 35 Hours Per Week.We are now looking for an Area Team Leader to join our multi-disciplined and busy maintenance team.The Opportunity:Maintenance Services currently employ a mix of 90+ trades, semi skilled and trade apprentice staff within its department who are responsible for the service and repair of over 500 buildings within the University of Edinburgh estate.An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Area Team Leader to join the existing team. This role reports directly to the Deputy Maintenance Services Manager (Reactive), and is one of 6 team leader roles that are responsible for the delivery of both reactive and planned maintenance in one of our campus locations. The post-holder will manage a team of multi skilled craftspeople and will be able to build up an excellent rapport with key contacts across the estate.You will be joining a team that provides exceptional customer services to an expanding world class estate and will be at ease working with others in an often demanding and high paced environment.Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Experience supervising or managing multi skilled trades teams and working within a complex estate.
  • Demonstrate a track record of meeting defined performance standards and managing shortfalls.
  • An ability to motivate and drive a positive team culture aligned to delivering excellent customer service.
  • The post-holder will be able to demonstrate experience in planning and delivering workloads for others and meeting critical deadlines.

It is an integrated centre of excellence responsible for implementing decisions related to the buildings, fabric and infrastructure of the University. It provides specialist advice to the University on strategic estates issues as well as its statutory obligations.
