You will be responsible for delivering stimulating Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students’ creativity, technical skills, and understanding of visual communication.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Art lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum and the school’s Christian ethos.
  • Foster a creative and interactive learning environment, encouraging students to explore a variety of artistic media and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school’s vision and the latest advancements in art and design education.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting a growth mindset and a belief in their artistic abilities.
  • Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified Art Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their artistic skills.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for art, with a strong understanding of art history, theory, and a variety of artistic media and techniques.
  • Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • A willingness to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
