Assistant Accountant – Operational Costs
THIS ROLE IS A 18 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT

Join us as a vital member of the Accounting & Controls team within the Group Financial Control division on a 9-month fixed-term contract. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting easyJet’s operational costs by ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and control processes.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the DOC Automation Project, analysing invoices, enhancing processes for efficiency, managing month-end accounting tasks, and preparing journals in compliance with accounting standards. Additionally, you’ll collaborate closely with operational finance teams, providing support for month-end, budgeting, and audit activities, while also identifying risks and opportunities through cost analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
Your role will involve partnering with FP&A teams to offer insights and assistance with ad-hoc projects. Building and maintaining effective cross-functional relationships and offering subject matter expertise to stakeholders will be essential aspects of this role.
What you need to do the role
We are seeking a someone with exceptional skills in problem identification and solution proposal, coupled with a keen eye for detail to pinpoint and articulate key issues. To do this role you must have a proactive and inquisitive mindset, ability to adept at explaining complex financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Demonstrating excellent time management across diverse tasks and projects is essential for meeting deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, at an intermediate to advanced level is required, along with a strong academic background.

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office.
