Job DescriptionBrook Street Recruitment is working with our client in Carryduff to recruit a new full time and permanent Assistant AccountantThe Assistant Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining financial accuracy and integrity. As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll be integral in analysing financial data, generating reports, and offering insights to inform strategic decisions. Your proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and performance evaluation will be key in enhancing our operational efficiency, managing costs, and driving profitability amid our growth trajectory.Duties.
- Financial Data Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the budgeting process by providing financial data and supporting the creation of budgets and forecasts.
- Cost Analysis: Analyse costs associated with various business activities and provide insights to help control expenses and improve efficiency.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile financial accounts and resolve any discrepancies to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, and maintain records of money owed and money due.
- Compliance and Regulation: Stay updated on accounting standards, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance in financial reporting.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Taxation Support: Support tax preparation and filings by gathering necessary documentation and preparing tax schedules.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial information and support decision-making processes.
- Routine Tasks: Utilise accounting software to automate repetitive tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and reconciliation, saving time and reducing errors.
Criteria
- Qualifications: Accountancy Qualification at level 3 or higher
- 3 years of experience in accounts or related roles, with demonstrated expertise in the construction sector or similar field
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
