About The RoleThe Finance Team require an Assistant Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract for maternity cover. This role is a 37 hours per week full time role which offers hybrid working with the expectation of 2 office days based within Magenta Living’s head office in Birkenhead.Reporting into the Financial Accountant you will play an important role in the timely production of the monthly management accounts for all companies. You will ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled each month and provide support to the general ledger team. You will prepare prepayment and accruals for the subsidiaries and Magenta Living ensuring intercompany balances reconcile.The Role

  • To assist in the preparation of the Magenta Living management accounts and financial accounts. Includes rolling forward the monthly accounts and ensuring they reconcile to the financial statements, budgets, and previous period.

To assist in preparing and maintaining accounting records, management accounts, and financial accounts for subsidiaries. Includes commentaries, investigating reasons for significant deviations from budget, and preparing draft reports for the Board and ELT.To ensure all general ledger functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner, preparing, where necessary, accruals, prepayments and adjustment journals for all Group companies.To assist in reconciling all balance sheet accounts for all Group companies every month, including reconciling intercompany balances.To assist in the development and subsequent production of Value for Money reporting and analysis against regulatory and internal metrics. Includes investigating trends and providing commentary on performance. * To assist in the preparation of financial accounts and supporting schedules for Magenta Living and subsidiaries audit at year-end.You will be someone with a positive and enthusiastic personality with a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail and positively contribute to the role and team you work in. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work is essential and to be able to work with colleagues of all levels, both internal and external. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must and ideally you will be fully proficient in all aspects of Microsoft office.We do support agile/flexible working however you will be expected to attend the office regularly for scheduled meetings and to work collaboratively with other areas of the business, and our partners.
