With a combined turnover of circa £85m and the ambitious growth plans of the group, there has never been a better time to join this exciting organisation.Role Overview:The Assistant Director of English position is a pivotal role aimed at driving excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for managing the curriculum area, leading learning experiences, and ensuring high-quality results for our students. This role demands a proactive approach to curriculum development, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.Experience Required:We are seeking candidates with a strong background in education and management, specifically:
- Team Management: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing teams within an educational setting is essential. You should demonstrate the ability to motivate and inspire staff, foster a positive working environment, and drive performance improvements.
- Teaching Excellence: Successful candidates will have a proven track record of excellence in teaching within the English disciplines. Your experience should showcase innovative teaching methodologies, student engagement strategies, and measurable outcomes.
- Quality Improvement: Experience in implementing and driving quality improvement processes is highly desirable. You should have a keen understanding of assessment frameworks, awarding body requirements, and strategies for enhancing student success rates.
- Liaison with Awarding Organisations: Candidates should have experience in liaising with Awarding Organisations, managing assessment processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Experience as a GCSE examiner or involvement in examination processes is advantageous.
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Evidence of ongoing CPD and commitment to personal and professional growth is essential. You should demonstrate a willingness to stay abreast of educational trends, pedagogical advancements, and industry developments.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
