Job Views 9DescriptionAbout the Company – Ruby Group are looking for a Assistant Management accountant to join a fast-growing transport and logistics company located in Central London. Our client has experienced consistent growth and has plans for further expansion. This is an exciting time to join the company as the finance team is growing, offering opportunities for career progression. This newly created position reports directly to the Finance Manager.About the Role – Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of monthly management accounts, including departmental Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Undertake the month-end close process, including reconciliation of control accounts.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of monthly management information.
  • Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments as necessary.
  • Prepare and update departmental forecasts.
  • Report variance analysis against actuals and budgets.
  • Conduct KPI/margin analysis to drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to increase revenue and reduce costs across all departments.
  • Forecast and review the cash flow management process.
  • Manage the preparation of audit files to ensure post-balance sheet events and any provisions are accounted for prior to the commencement of audit work.
  • Liaise with company auditors to ensure smooth workflow of the audit assignment and ensure signed financial statements are available for filing and circulation as required.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and implement systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc projects and additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications – Ideal Candidate:

  • Educated to degree level and working towards ACCA, CIMA, or AAT.
  • At least part-qualified with a minimum of four years’ experience in finance, ideally supporting a Finance Manager.
  • Experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise workloads are essential.
  • Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate level is required.

Expected salary

£38000 – 45000 per year
