Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Determines and applies appropriate market research principles and methodology to research.
- Assists in the development and execution of all aspects of market research project for various stakeholders across the Scotiabank Group of Companies, including questionnaire design, sample plans, as well as preparing written analyses and reports.
- Occasionally conducts field research leveraging in-house tools such as Qualtrics, with support as required.
- Preparing written analysis and create insightful reports drawing on various sources with recommendations, with support as required.
- Liaises with external suppliers to coordinate projects.
- Ensures that all market research efforts are carried out on time and on budget.

- Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research on vendor or client-side.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral required to prepare documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Required technical skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, R or similar statistical application; Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau; and IMS Clear Decisions or other similar cross-tabbing and media profiling tools.
- Experience with the Qualtrics platform is an asset.
- Excellent organization skills to set priorities, plan and execute tasks, meet designated deadlines – often within time restraints.
- Possess intellectual curiosity and quickness.
- Spanish fluency is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Business or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Completed Market Research certificate program, an asset.
