About the opportunity
The School of Nursing in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Health invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, three-year limited term faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, specializing as a Nurse Practitioner – Family All Ages.

The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students and contributing to the service of the School. The School is seeking a practicing Nurse Practitioner currently holding, or eligible for, a university faculty appointment to educate and prepare nurses for advanced practice as Nurse Practitioners with a focus in Family All Ages. The successful candidate must have a minimum of two years NP clinical practice and be eligible for registration as a NP with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. A background in some combination of leadership; knowledge mobilization; equity, diversity, inclusion and, accessibility (EDIA) in healthcare; interprofessional education; distance and context-based learning; and/or clinical simulation would be assets.
Successful candidates must hold a Nurse Practitioner license and at minimum a Master’s degree in Nursing. Competitive applicants must demonstrate excellence in clinical practice and some experience in teaching. Assets include teaching in an MN-NP program and a Doctorate degree in Nursing or health related discipline The candidate is expected to become an active and engaged member of the School, Faculty and University. Activities at local, national, and international levels are expected to promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning at Dalhousie. There is no expectation of a research workload associated with this position.
