We invite you to see what the power of belonging can do for you, your career and your community.The OpportunityAs the Assistant, People & Culture, you will support the department in recruitment and administrative functions. You will be responsible for recruiting, sourcing and selecting candidates, completing pre-employment steps, and assisting with onboarding. You will ensure an excellent candidate experience by building relationships with applicants and working with them through the hiring process. You will also be responsible for Data management of the current HRIS system, ensuring accurate data entry of all People & Culture changes captured in the Employee Information form.As we continue to align our policies and procedures across our organization, you will also have an opportunity to contribute to process improvements and project activities. You will partner with a fantastic team to provide administration and coordination support and contribute to developing and maintaining existing people programs.Responsibilities

  • Post job advertisements and publicize them in appropriate outlets, working with the communication team as needed.
  • Create or update job posting, job descriptions, and interview guides as needed.
  • Review all applications and select qualified candidates for initial screening.
  • Schedule and participate in interviews.
  • Participate in recruiting activities, including job fairs, community outreach programs and other recruitment events.
  • Conduct reference checks and pre-employment screenings and prepare offer letters.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientations for new hires.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records for employee lifecycle events.
  • Provide payroll support with updates on relevant employee information.
  • Draft P&C documents such as Employment Confirmations.
  • Participate in People & Culture Departmental programs and projects.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Human Resources Management Diploma.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience working with an applicant tracking system or other HR systems
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Proactive with the willingness to take initiative.
  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
