Position Highlights The Department of Psychology and the Cognitive Science Program at the University of Arizona seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in computational psychology, computational cognitive science, and/or computational neuroscience. We seek individuals with expertise in domains such as modeling complex systems and behavior using approaches such as deep learning, machine learning, Bayesian methods, artificial neural networks, reinforcement learning, dynamic systems modelling, network analysis, and large language models. Preference will be given to applicants with the potential to collaborate across disciplines in Cognitive Science and Psychology (Cognition and Neural Systems, Clinical, Social). The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduates and graduate students from diverse backgrounds.Faculty in the Psychology Department and the interdisciplinary Cognitive Science Program are deeply collaborative. Candidates would have the opportunity to work with scientists investigating cognition and behavior using fMRI, EEG, fNIRS, brain stimulation, single-unit physiology, and neuromodulation in human and animal models. Duties & ResponsibilitiesDuties & Responsibilities

  • Publishing peer-reviewed scholarly works
  • Maintaining an active research program
  • Obtaining extramural funding
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses during the academic year
  • Advising undergraduate and graduate students
  • Serving on departmental committees

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science or a related discipline by the start of the appointment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active research agenda with national and international visibility.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
