The successful applicant will be expected to teach within the following substantive areas: Clinical Psychology, Community Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and/or Social Psychology.Qualifications:To be considered for this position, candidates must have a PhD in Psychology or a closely related field with a background in Clinical Psychology, Community Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, or a related field consistent with the teaching needs listed above. We seek a qualified scholar with a record of excellence in university teaching and service. Evidence of an ongoing program of research in Psychology, and interest in student training are assets.The candidate must have a passion for psychology education and student success. The successful candidate is also expected to have a demonstrated commitment to service to the University and the academic community, and to scholarly and/or professional activity. Also, in line with our focus on experiential learning, we are seeking a candidate with an interest in incorporating experiential learning opportunities into the curriculum and mentoring undergraduate students including through the supervision of independent studies. - Teaching up to five one-term undergraduate courses per year in Psychology.
- Engaging students in innovative and effective teaching methods, including experiential learning.
- Advising and mentoring students in their academic and career pursuits.
- Participating in departmental meetings and university service activities.
- Pursuing scholarly activities in a substantive area of Psychology, which may include scholarship related to teaching and pedagogy.
