  • Doctorate in Communication or related field.
  • ABD considered with evidence of completion by the time of appointment.
  • Success in teaching College Communication courses in the classroom and online.
  • Record of research experience and publication or demonstrated potential for research and publication.

Position Details:This is a full-time, tenure-track position complete with both a competitive salary and .   • 60% Teaching Communication Courses per CBA workload agreement
  • 20% Research per CBA Workload agreement
  • 20% Service to the university as per CBA workload agreement

The Department of Communication of the Community and Technical College (CTC) at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Communication starting August 2025. The position is tripartite, consisting of 0.6 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) for instruction, 0.2 FTE for research, and 0.2 FTE for service. The Department offers a thriving BA in Communication that commenced in Fall 2022, a minor in Communication, and four courses fulfilling the University Communication General Education Requirement (GER). The ideal candidate will be integral in advancing the Communication BA program and be prepared to take a leadership role in the Department, including on Department Committees. The Department seeks a candidate committed to a collegial climate, motivated to teach in person, skilled in online pedagogy, and who engages undergraduate students in collaborative research.The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is a public university in Anchorage, Alaska, United States.
