Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?You will be a key member of a small dynamic team. You will work to support the senior investment professionals in executing new investment opportunities, supporting existing portfolio investments, performing research, and conducting related quantitative and qualitative analysis. RBC Capital Partners provides junior capital (debt and equity) to support business transition, growth, acquisitions, management buyouts, leverage buyouts and recapitalizations.What will you do?Assessment of New Transactions:Assist in the initial assessment of mezzanine investment and minority equity opportunities with the ability to present and clearly communicate key findings to the senior investment professionalsProactively execute and manage the due diligence processConduct industry research derived from a variety of internal and external sources providing insight on trends and risk areasConduct company specific analysis of internal financial reporting as well as externally prepared reports (ex. quality of earnings)Detailed financial modeling – historical trend analysis, projections, working capital analysis, sensitivity analysis, etc.Interact with financial intermediaries, advisors and sponsorsPortfolio Monitoring:Monitoring the monthly financial reporting of the Portfolio, including: review of internal financials, trend analysis, ongoing discussions with management regarding material differences from plan, and internal reporting to the team.Assist in the preparation of quarterly materials for the RBC Capital Partners Investment CommitteeWhat do you need to succeed?Must Have:Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., business, economics, engineering)Strong industry research and analytical skillsPrevious experience with financial modelling and investment valuationProficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel, PowerPoint and WordMinimum of 3 years of relevant professional work experienceNice to have:Graduate degree with a focus in BusinessCPA, CFA, CBV or other relevant professional designationExperience in mezzanine financing, investment banking, corporate finance, accounting, private equity and/or corporate developmentWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
