What you will doAs an Associate in our Corporate Finance team, you will provide a broad range of support to our deal teams in executing merger, acquisition, divestiture, and capital advisory mandates. You will have significant opportunities for personal and professional growth, and to accelerate your career as far as you are willing to take it.
- Contribute to preparation of transaction documents such as pitches, teasers, confidential information memoranda, and organizational presentations.
- Perform detailed analysis of historical and projected financial performance.
- Create sophisticated financial, operating, and valuation models to support decision making.
- Identify potential acquisition targets, purchasers, and investors and their respective acquisition reason.
- Conduct market and industry research, benchmarking analysis, and data compilation projects to provide relevant information to clients and deal teams.
- Communicate closely with a variety of parties including clients, other advisors, and transaction counterparties.
- Contribute to proactive business development and deal initiation activities; and
- As a member of a high performing team working in a fast-paced deal environment, there will be times where you will be required to work beyond a normal workday or work week to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Likewise, we recognize and support that there may be times where you need to devote extra time during work hours to personal matters. Our approach is flexible and accommodative.
What you bring to the role
- 1 to 4 years of professional experience in investment banking, corporate finance, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, accounting, or similar roles.
- An undergraduate degree in finance, commerce, business, accounting, economics, or other related fields.
- Completion of or progression towards a professional designation (CPA, CFA, and/or CBV) would be considered an asset but is not a prerequisite.
- Demonstrated track record of results through outstanding academic achievement and excellent performance reviews in previous professional roles; and
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and other financial analysis and research instruments (Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Pitchbook, Refinitiv, Factiva, IBIS World, Statista, etc.);

KPMG BC Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $61,500 to $91,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
