Job Summary The GRM Operational Risk team provides monitoring and oversight of risks within RBC. We are looking for someone who will support operational risk management by executing and operationalizing data pipelines and dashboards to automate and enhance operational risk monitoring. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers to achieve enhanced Analytics within Operational Risk.Job DescriptionWhat will you do?

  • Responsible for the development and operationalization of data pipelines (ETL’s, DAG’s, etc) and dashboards used to ingest and transform a variety of data sources for reporting
  • Work closely with business partners and IT teams to design and develop integrated reporting solutions to serve operational risk
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers, ensuring prioritization of activities aligns with strategic direction of operational risk
  • Identify and implement improvements in data processes, tools, and technologies; to improve team efficiency and scalability of application

What do you need to succeed?Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science; or any quantitative field
  • Experience in leading and managing software projects involving multiple teams/individuals
  • Experience performing common ETL operations on structured datasets
  • Experience in developing, supporting, and maintaining Tableau dashboards
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX shell coding and coding with Python/PySpark
  • Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem HDFS/Spark/Hive
  • Experience with source version control such as GitHub
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills both in written and verbal
  • Solid understanding of data management practices and data pipelines

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in designing, developing and maintaining software frameworks using Python, Spark, and Shell Scripts
  • Strong working knowledge of Operational Risk Management concepts and processes
  • Knowledge of Project Management (PMF) process/disciplines
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology
