What is the opportunity?

As part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) team, the Associate Director – BCM Strategy, Standards & Advisory will support the establishment and maintenance of a robust Enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program

The ideal candidate will also develop and maintain strong oversight and challenge program for Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management and Third Party Risk Management

The role will be instrumental in ensuring program effectiveness by providing education, collaborating across teams and promoting business continuity awareness across the organization to ensure overall organizational resiliency

What will you do?

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of a robust Enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program
  • Enhance and mature the BCM regulatory compliance program maintaining a catalogue of global regulations and execute monitoring to ensure alignment with regulatory and industry standards
  • Develop and maintain strong oversight and challenge program for Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management and Third Party Risk Management
  • Conduct and analyze the design and operating effectiveness of regulatory controls
  • Monitor, Analyze and opine on the industry & regulatory landscape for trends and changes to inform the BCM Program
  • Contribute to and gather information required to respond to regulators, supervisors and statutory bodies
  • Provide recommendations on policies, processes and tools for business continuity management supporting the development, maintenance, and communication of BCM’s suite of governance documents, including Policy, Standards, Procedures
  • Participate in various forums, working groups, and committees as well as monitor the internal and external environment to keep abreast of organizational, regulatory, strategic, and operational changes and environmental trends impacting business continuity management practices
  • Provide subject matter expertise to colleagues and management in understanding and managing risk across the BCM domain, specifically in the regulatory environment globally (including the application of regulations)

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 6+ years of Business Continuity Management experience with knowledge, skill and background in Business Continuity, Operational Risk and/or Compliance ideally within the Banking and/or financial services industry.
  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Completion of Associate Business Continuity Professional certification (ABCP)
  • Microsoft Office, presentation skills, influence
  • Sound Knowledge and experience with operational risk programs, risk assessment, internal controls, monitoring and reporting.

Nice to Have

  • Completion of Certified Business Continuity Professional certification (CBCP)
  • Experience with global Business Continuity Management regulations
  • Experience with Business Continuity Management regulators and responding to requests
