Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Associate Director, Capital Markets ESG Finance Advisory is a key member of the Capital Markets (CM) Performance Management team, acting as the key Finance advisor and relationship manager for Capital Markets Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Finance, responsible for management reporting, external reporting, planning, and analysis to support business leaders in the ESG journey to stand up the reporting infrastructure, embed ESG across CM lines of business and their strategies, and collaborate across business and functional groups in CM and the enterprise to ensure ESG is appropriately embedded in relevant Finance deliverables and activitiesThis role will appeal to individuals who are passionate about and excited to learn more about ESG, who have an innovative mindset in measuring performance and creating effective reporting mechanisms, and who employ superior skills in business relationship management.What you will do?

  • Act as the lead Finance contact supporting the Head, Strategy, Marketing and Sustainability, the Sustainable Finance Group and the ESG Credit Group. This requires the incumbent to assess financial and non-financial performance, drive conclusions, and present results as appropriate
  • Provide insightful reporting and analytics for CM ESG Finance and communicate key messages effectively to facilitate executive decision-making
  • Manage key strategic ESG projects and deliverables on behalf of Finance in partnership with Strategy teams and CM lines of business, employing an innovative and creative mindset
  • Support business executives and senior management in Capital Markets and Finance with analysis and recommendations on business opportunities, through identification of internal and external issues, and ongoing monitoring of the economic and regulatory environment related to ESG
  • Execute global benchmarking of ESG strategies and reporting to identify best practices in order to ensure CM exceeds stakeholder expectations for ESG
  • Coordinate across CM lines of business, Investor Relations, External Reporting, Financial Control, Law, Group, Risk Management, Climate Strategy & Governance and Brand & Citizenship to build robust key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets, as well as construct an ESG financial and non-financial reporting infrastructure aligned with evolving internal, global, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with CM Finance advisors to maintain financial estimates, quarterly forecasts, annual plan, 5-year outlook, and line of business reviews embedded with relevant ESG strategies, targets, and metrics
  • Foster a continuous learning environment, proactively engaging on ESG topics and issues to deepen knowledge and drive value-add financial and business analysis, and promoting ESG knowledge current on market trends, the competitive environment, the regulatory environment, stakeholder focus, and business opportunities

What you need to succeed?Must Have

  • CPA, CFA or Finance MBA
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, and ability to play a leadership role across a wide group of peers
  • Experience with project management and ability to act as an effective catalyst for change
  • Keen sense of numbers, target setting, and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on a continuous basis
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence stakeholders and mobilize groups to deliver on common goals
  • Superior organizational, analytical, reporting, and problem solving skills
  • Able to consistently exercise independent thought and judgment, innovate, and adapt to new tasks quickly
  • Proactive and persistent in issue resolution
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation and Excel skills required

Nice to Have

  • Solid experience and understanding of bank structure, risk management concepts, and capital markets products and strategies
  • Experience with third party data vendors such as Bloomberg and Dealogic
  • Experience with automation and analytics tools such as PowerQuery and Tableau
  • Regulatory compliance, as well as standard setting and interpretation
