Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director – Data, Analytics & Insights to lead the reporting functions for our Strategy, Governance & Enterprise Partnerships (SGEP) team within the RBC Global Security program. This role identifies data sources, extracts key data, transforms it into actionable insights and monitors data quality to meet the organization’s information system needs and requirements. The Associate Director – Data, Analytics & Insights will apply extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments to bridge the gap between business and technology by delivering critical insights and analysis to shape strategy, evolve data connectivity, and create step-change in how strategic analysis is conducted in SGEP.What will you do?Reporting:Responsible for reporting of management information and maintaining reporting dashboardsPrepare presentations, executive summary and statistics for senior management and other stakeholders where neededPerform in-depth data analysis to support decision makingLead and coordinate all requests from senior management relating to reportingLeverage on advanced writing and communication skills to develop Senior Management briefing materials and periodic management reporting, in a management-ready state.Lead collection and analysis of multi-dimensional data:Utilize strong business acumen and analytical skills in collection and analysis of data to underpin SGEP strategic directionCreate final deliverables in a variety of formats to summarize completed analysis, key insights, findings, and recommendations and present to Senior leadershipData Governance and Management:Oversee data governance practices to ensure data quality, security and complianceDevelop advanced analytics models to uncover trends, insights, and opportunitiesWork closely with cross-functional stakeholders in key transformation, integration and technology initiates driven by the enterpriseDrive Long Term Goals:Apply problem solving techniques and business acumen to derive business insights toward simple and complex business objectivesUnderstand the business in areas of focus to ensure analytical insights are properly understood in business contextUtilize best practices to operationalize analytical work building processes and outputs that are agile, efficient, sustainable, and resilientProject Leadership:Work collaboratively with diverse cross-functional teams to create integrated analyses, insights and execution roadmaps where requiredBuild a network of business partners, SMEs and support resources in support of business understanding, data sourcing and business insight validationWhat do you need to succeed?Must have:Advanced quantitative, qualitative, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skillsAdvanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and SQL, with the ability to problem solve and produce ad hoc insights and analysesExperience utilizing querying, automation, and big data technologies (e.g. Python, Datameer, SQL, Spark, Teradata, VBA, Hadoop) to produce repeatable insights3+ years Expertise in implementing data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) for crafting insightful and engaging data visualizationsExceptional storytelling skills, with a track record of translating complex data into compelling business insightsA portfolio showcasing your analytical, modeling, and storytelling expertise (links or attachments required with application).Detail oriented, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of complex analyses and deliverablesAbility to communicate findings derived from complex analytics to Senior Leadership, both verbally and visuallyStrong organizational and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work under deadline conditions and manage multiple tasks effectively and concurrentlyExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and listening)Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively both in a team-oriented environment as well as independentlyBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field or extensive related work experience (minimum 5 years).
