Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As a Developer in the Multi Asset Algorithmic Solutions (MAAS) team you will be working with algo researchers, technologists, and trading desks to build out the global multi-strategy agency Algorithmic trading platform. You will be involved in the full development lifecycle while maintaining the platform’s business and technical performance in a fast past and competitive landscape.What will you do?Work with business stakeholders to expand our product offering to new business landscapesIdentify and implement solutions to optimize performance and maintain low latencyMeet deadlines in support of a fast moving release cycleLeverage new technologies and approaches with continuous improvement in mindTailor the algorithmic container to meet the demand to house increasingly sophisticated algorithmic trading strategiesCollaborate with the broader technology group to converge on best practices, adopt reusable frameworks and components and contribute to building further reusable assets.In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide.What do you need to succeed?Must-haveBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline with 7+ years experience in low latency Java developmentRequired Technical experience: Multi-threading, Memory Management, Garbage Collector TuningExperience with distributed systems design and implementationExperience in Capital MarketsKnowledge of the Unix command lineNice-to-haveKnowledge of kdb+ and k/q programming languageUnderstanding of FIX protocol, market data and trading signalsUnderstanding of algorithmic trading strategiesUnderstanding of build and deployment managementWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
