Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Reporting to the Director, Strategic Client Services, this role will be primarily responsible for:

  • Relationship management of a select qualifying portfolio of Strategic Client Services accounts. ($100MM+)
  • Providing technical and advisory support to strategic clients
  • Providing an enhanced and exceptional client experience to strategic clients
  • Responsible for providing and/or coordinating technical, legal and tax expertise and managing fiduciary, legal and reputational risk for the business.
  • Project management and oversight of select portfolio of Strategic Client accounts
  • Supporting the regional markets with new business opportunity resources and advisory services for strategic clients (proposals, fees, business acceptance suitability etc.)

  • Mentor and guide regional administration teams to ensure exceptional client servicing and support through account duration of Strategic Client files.
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to enhance the end user client experience, actively seeks feedback, engages and gains the buy in of key stakeholders and effectively communicates to target audiences.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to ongoing development and commitment to ensuring skills/knowledge/accreditations are up to date and meet position requirements.

Client Experience

  • Create an exceptional client experience by providing superior service and comprehensive fiduciary solutions for Ultra High Net Worth and Enterprise Strategic clients as lead relationship manager and advisor on the Strategic Client Services team
  • Seek out and develop customized proactive client contact strategies including client appreciation events (ie: golf tournaments, sporting events, etc.) for each client to ensure the broadening of the client relationship to the next generation and with RBC Wealth Management (RBCWM) and RBC Group of Companies through ongoing client discovery
  • Works in partnership with other business units and colleagues to ensure a seamless experience for shared client

Operational and Risk Management

  • Oversight and project management of complex UHNW accounts to minimize operational and reputational risk for the business
  • Mitigation of legal and fiduciary risk through provision of advisory support to the regions on UHNW opportunities as well as through coordination of internal and external advice on complex UHNW accounts

Accelerating Business Results

  • Develop and maintain centers of influence and internal RBC partnerships to drive referrals and new client acquisition.
  • Accelerating business results through relationship building and through excellence in execution and client and COI direct referrals.

What do you need to succeed?Must Have

  • 10+ years in estate and trust administration or LL.B with minimum 5 years experience in estates and trust administration.
  • STEP (TEP) designation
  • Experience in sales or relationship management role working with high net worth clients (families)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)
  • High degree of PC literacy and fully proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of fundamental Canadian estates and trusts law principles and general understanding of tax issues impacting the administration of estates and trusts

Nice to Have

  • Project Management skills/experience
  • Knowledge of Private Company taxation and post mortem planning
  • Bilingual (English/French)
