Details on your work arrangement will be discussed at the time of your interview.How You’ll SucceedResearch – The Research Associate will work closely with the Managing Director, Portfolio Strategy. In this role, you will gain valuable experience developing and maintaining financial models and databases and researching fundamentals, quantitative and ESG factors that impact stock-selection and sector rotation. The analysis and research cuts across a host of security types including (but not limited to) equities, fixed income, mutual funds and ETFs.Technical Skills – The Associate will have an opportunity to work directly with the Strategy team on research projects and be active in writing reports. The individual can expect to provide support for the production of research reports, create and build quantitative analysis models and tools, and research and back-test investment strategies. The successful candidate will have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, as well as, solid coding capabilities. Associates need a strong attention to detail., and will be very excel-proficient and financial-statement-literate.Client Focus – The position provides the opportunity to liaise with our Sales and Trading teams, as well as to participate in conference calls and meetings with some of Canada’s largest investment managers.Who You AreYou possess an Undergraduate or Masters degree in computer science, finance, accounting, financial economics, mathematics or engineering. A CFA designation would also suffice. Please include your cover letter, resume and transcripts (if recent graduate).You are comfortable working with large data bases and possess experience working with Python.You possess ability to understand financial statements as well as strong grounding in mathematics/statistics and accounting/finance.You can demonstrate excellent knowledge of all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet, CapIQ and/or Refinitiv along with experience with Compustat and Clarifi are preferred.You are motivated by collective success. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with internal and external clients.You know that details matter. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to complete and explain detailed financial and statistical analysis. Strong multi-tasking and time management skills. Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment. Demonstrated interest in the capital markets industry through school courses, clubs and/or related work experience.Values matter to you.
