Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?A member of , the Associate Investment Counsellor (AIC) works with experienced Investment Counsellors (IC) to construct customized investment strategies for high-net-worth (HNW) individuals, trusts, and charitable foundations. The AIC is responsible for assisting ICs in implementing the strategy and managing and monitoring the client portfolios on an ongoing basis. Under the mentorship of an IC, the AIC must exhibit client acquisition skills and the ability to actively close HNW target prospects. The ultimate purpose of this role is for the AIC to develop the necessary skills to transition to the role of IC over a two-year period.What will you do?Develop internal and external referral networksDevelop and execute a business planDevelop, document, and maintain a profile for each client including next steps to increase and solidify relationshipsAttend client meetings as required, including prospect and annual review meetingsConduct effective client discoveryImplement action plans and proactively manage client portfolios; monitoring and rebalancing portfolios ensuring consistency with Investment Policy Statements and portfolio risk management strategies and policiesAct as primary contact for clients with respect to questions and inquiries regarding their portfoliosEnsure that all actions taken meet RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel and industry compliance requirementsWhat do you need to succeed?Must HaveUniversity degree, preferably in Business or EconomicsChartered Financial Analyst designationPortfolio management experienceAbility to communicate with clients about investment, economic, financial, and taxation issuesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsNice to haveMinimum of 5 years of professional experience within the investment industryCFP certificationWhat’s in it for you?
