And we do all this with an unrivalled sense of urgency that our clients love about us.The opportunityThe Associate, Loan Syndications & Agency will be primarily focused on supporting the team and providing structuring, marketing, and loan distribution strategies to address syndicated lending requirements of CWB’s clients across Canada. The Loan Syndications & Agency team acts as arranger and underwriter, providing market intelligence as well as marketing, execution, and loan distribution expertise.What you’ll be doingLead arranger & book-runner for syndicated lending transactionsAssist in evaluation, structuring, marketing, delivery, and management of debt solutions in the Canadian syndicated loan market.Enhance deal execution with comprehensive credit analysis, research, and preparation of various marketing materials.Key liaison role between CWB and other loan participants in the initial transaction and in subsequent amendments.Organize and distribute due diligence information to secure data rooms for transactions across their lead syndication portfolio.Active involvement with the development and maintenance of CWB’s comparable transaction database.Conduct industry and market research and select relevant data for lead syndication activities.Manage and respond to requirements of participating lenders as required to successfully close transactions.Champion client centric cultureChampions a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader CWB relationships, systems, and knowledge.Work closely with regional deal teams to develop and deliver leading syndication mandates for existing full-service clients and select targeted prospects.Demonstrates skills in developing, maintaining, and strengthening business relations with existing and new customers.Grow and maintain syndications and agency offeringChampions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.Assist role creating and maintaining the syndications’ database, as well as managing select vendor relationships.Establish a strong, collaborative working relationship with CWB’s Agency and Credit Support teams.Successful incumbentThis role requires an astute individual independent accountability. Problems solving know-how & communicating with professional confidence is required in this high paced environment. Client centric, sales focused, a proven educator, and you compel others to act through effective collaboration. You appreciate both the art and science of numbers, absorb & analyze complex financial information easily to formulate the ideal deal structure guaranteed to excite lenders & investors.Core knowledge requirementsUndergraduate degree finance, accounting, economics, or business.CFA or CBV designation considered an asset.Strong financial and analytical skills, capital structuring, risk management, origination, and execution of syndicated loan structures.Superior attention to detail to ensure accuracy of key deliverables.Proficient competency of Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.Professional written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated experience3-5 years work experience in commercial, corporate, or investment banking. Previous syndications experience beneficial.Knowledge of credit structuring, credit metrics and capital markets.Demonstrated abilities to perform well under pressure, meet time-sensitive deadlines, prioritize workload and multi-task responsibilities while working on multiple projects.Why work with us?Your success is our obsession!
