You will be responsible for working with a Senior Private Banker in effectively managing and growing a portfolio of cash management, lending and investment products and services which increases overall profit contribution to CIBC Private Wealth Management. You will provide exceptional service to your team’s UHNW Private Banking clients by assisting them with their transactional banking needs on a reactive and proactive basis. You will support the Senior Private Banker as your team introduces your clients to partners across the Bank, including Wealth Strategy, Commercial Banking, Wood Gundy, Private Investment Counsel, Trust, Bank USA and others.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. - Relationship and Portfolio Management – Contribute to the group’s High Net Worth (HNW) business by building a portfolio of HNW clients whose needs are primarily banking, credit and investment based. Ensure quality of account portfolio by performing risk assessment and in-depth financial analysis on all potential or existing High New Worth clients on an ongoing basis. Resolve extremely complex credit issues for clients by working closely with Credit Specialists and Commercial Banking. Provide specialized services to key HNW markets like professional services to partners of major law, accounting and medical business as well as providing private banking services to HNW clients of Wood Gundy.
- Planning and Advice – Review client portfolios and financial needs from a holistic perspective and identify opportunities to broaden the client’s suite of products and services. Meet regularly with clients to conduct portfolio reviews and introduce new product and service solutions. Understand wealth generation by small to medium business enterprises and the complexity of monetizing their value.
- Business Development – acquire new clients who have sophisticated financial needs, are people of influence and/or who require complex global financial solutions. Search for and develop untapped opportunities to promote CIBC Private Wealth Management within the HNW market. Represent CIBC on Boards, participate in charitable organizations and engage in appropriate social networks. Play an active role in large deal teams focusing on ultra HNW clients, especially with introductions from Commercial Banking.
- Continuously update your knowledge and skills – Demonstrate a commitment to keep up-to-date with current events, overall economic and financial environment, trends, product developments, legislative changes, etc. and proactively communicate developments or changes to client as applicable to their financial situation. Be involved in the community through participation in business and industry associations, and aid in the development of a professional network comprised of the target client segment.
Who You Are
- You’re a certified professional. You have successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course, Professional Financial Planning Course, Conduct & Practices Handbook and continuing education to Certified Financial Planners Designation.
- You can demonstrate experience in concepts of personal financial planning and strong knowledge of all banking, investment and credit products and services. You have Financial services experience in private banking, wealth advisory, or brokerage.
- You put our clients first. You have relationship management skills sufficient to build strong relationships with customers, to identify partnership and consolidation opportunities. You have demonstrated success in ability to build and maintain new client relationships.
- You have an established profile in the local business community. You have knowledge of a diverse marketplace and needs of local clients. You enjoy an active role in community events, charitable organizations and industry associations.
