The Production Finance Associate position will be based in our Toronto office location and will partner with the Netflix Production Finance Canada teams to help manage our Canadian scripted and unscripted series and films.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely and collaboratively with numerous Netflix teams, including: Production Management, Business and Legal Affairs, Production Tax, Treasury and Content Accounting.
  • Collaboration with production accounting teams and prep/wrap department, as well as production services companies throughout Canada
  • Reconcile total costs for our productions, including tax incentive estimates
  • Archive titles, including closing out bank accounts, PAS period closing, access removal of external freelance accounting teams, etc.
  • Track and process show fundings for partner-managed productions
  • Own the show set-up process (both internally and externally with payroll companies, etc)
  • Onboard and offboard production accounting teams to Netflix systems
  • Process various development invoices and oversee process of booking costs to shows
  • Update show-related information in Netflix internal accounting systems
  • Maintain and distribute Canada Production Accounting Policies & Procedures Manual
  • Assist with Training, Outreach & Recruitment initiatives with local Accounting caucuses, schools, and I&D organizations.
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis as needed
  • Occasional travel to other Netflix offices and productions in the US and Canada

Qualifications

  • Freelance experience at minimum as a 2nd Assistant in episodic television production or a similar level of experience on the corporate/studio side of episodic production finance is ideal
  • Must possess a high level of intellectual curiosity with a focus on generating results
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Must be self-motivated, disciplined, highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Must exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • A degree in accounting or finance is preferred

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is USD $50,000 – $240,000
