Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As an Associate you will support RBC’s focus on Project Finance and Public Private Partnerships (P3) transactions with the Corporate Client Group, Project and Infrastructure Finance team including ESG focused opportunities comprising renewable energy transactions. Initiative and responsibility are key to success along with analytical, communication and, writing skills, as well as documentation, modeling, and presentation abilities. Flexibility and enthusiasm are required to support and manage other assigned duties and other initiatives and projects.What will you do?You will be part of a fast growing national team of Project Finance and PPP professionals committed to the delivery of quality credit solutions to project sponsors and consortiums.Provide full engagement and support for monthly transaction monitoring including review of documentation, project costs reconciliation against monthly technical reports, tracking project draws, liaising with the clients and other lenders as required, and ensuring compliance with loan agreementsProvide analysis in connection with responsibilities to manage and monitor the loan portfolio, including timely reporting of material shifts in risk, client needs, market pricing, and structureSupport the team to structure, deliver, document, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral senior debt transactions, including due diligence, credit submissions, transaction monitoring, research, associated analysis, client support and transaction presentations in a timely and professional mannerSupport the team in developing relationships with project owners and sponsors across energy transition sectors including, renewable energy, energy storage, clean infrastructure, circular economy, low carbon fuels and carbon captureProvide analysis, and support on risk and return associated with loan transactions contemplated as part of client strategiesBe completely engaged in supporting the CCG mandate to develop and maintain a business pipeline, and to close loan transactions sufficient in number to meet revenue plansFollow up and engage with partners in Loan Syndications, Corporate Banking, Derivatives, Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Client Group Relationship and Finance teams, Global Loans Administration, Loan Agency Group, Group Risk Management, and other areasInvolvement on project and infrastructure finance credit submissions and associated analysisWhat do you need to succeed?Must-haveUndergraduate degree with a focus in Business, Finance or EconomicsAttention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and multitaskDemonstrated skills in financial modelling, including financial sensitivity and scenario worksheetsAnalytical, financial, credit and accounting skills with the ability to effectively communicate and present information using MS PowerPoint and ExcelPersonal and relationship skills and the ability to work effectively within a fast paced team environmentAbility and desire to learn quickly and efficiently apply new conceptsNice-to-haveWorking towards or completed CPA, CFA or other relevant professional designationWork experience in corporate lending/finance, or real estate and construction lendingWork experience in P3 and project finance lendingUnderstanding and familiarity with RBC internal processesFrench language skills, both written and verbalWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
