Buro Happold is recruiting for an Associate Public Health Engineer to join our Building Environments team in London.This role is suited to a candidate from a engineering consultancy background looking for an opportunity to pursue industry leading designs within a vibrant multi-disciplinary practice.This role will see the successful applicant leading Buro Happold consultancy on projects in the London area and further afield, which will include residential buildings, commercial office, science and technology, mixed use and major medium and large scale building refurbishments. This role will give you a wide breadth of technical exposure and enable you to push boundaries the boundaries of sustainable design.This is an opportunity to join a talented award winning established team renowned for award winning project delivery in the UK and internationally, the group have recently moved to their new state of the art modern commercial workspace.The role:This role will see you technically and creatively challenged on some of the most interesting developments in the South East and further afield. Teamwork and a collaborative approach are key to any project at Buro Happold, so your strong communication skills and passion to succeed with others will serve you well.This key role will have a variety of day-to-day responsibilities including:

  • Contribute to leading public health and mechanical engineering teams and take a project leadership role as required.
  • Communicating directly with Clients, offering innovative design solutions and managing expectations. Further developing relationships with existing and new clients including contractors, architects and developers.
  • Preparing technical and financial proposals for new work.
  • Managing workload of engineers and technicians
  • Preparing Technical Specifications.
  • Monitor financial performance of jobs as well as setting up and managing job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure.

Skills & Experience:As a talented building services engineer, it is expected that you would be able to demonstrate…

  • Extensive ;public health and mechanical design experience in an MEP consultancy, with experience acting as project leader.
  • Diverse sector experience, ideally with large scale project experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, able to develop relationships with clients, architects and other team members.
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in engineering
  • Professionally registered with a relevant institution; e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, etc.
  • Although mechanically biased it is expected that you will have a good understanding of other design disciplines.
  • A Bachelor’s degree BEng/BSc or Master’s degree MEng/MSc in a relevant discipline.
