Assist and lead the development and implementation of a governance and processes for Global Banking & Markets (“GBM”) Internal Control. The incumbent will play a critical part in successfully developing and tracking Key Risk Indicators, Key Performance Indicators or metrics; and proactively identifying and remediating risks through data-driven analytics.What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with business leaders, technology groups and control and support units to ensure appropriate controls are designed into new processes and/or when changes occur because of new business, new or enhancements to existing systems, regulatory pronouncements, etc.
  • Coordinating and ensuring completion of ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Creating and understanding meaningful, robust business commentary for various recurring Management and Executive Committees, Board meetings, and regulatory forums
  • Strengthening and developing the control environment by promoting an understanding and adherence to the existing governance framework and policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Actively creating efficiencies in the way controls are applied while still operating under a robust control framework
  • Developing relationships with desk heads to understand requirements to manage operational risk and support business activity
  • Development of internal standards, guidelines and procedures to manage operational risk within the strategic framework set by the SVP, Head of GBM Internal Controls
  • Integrate data from multiple sources and develop dashboards, reports with commentary for the Global Banking & Markets businesses
  • Develop and enhance tools and processes through innovative use of the available technologies
  • Assist in supporting existing tools, along with creating numerous new tools, reports, and automated processes to manage operational risks and regulatory information such as.
  • Develop Key Risk Indicators, Key Performance Indicators and/or metrics tools to facilitate oversight and supervision of GBM staff
  • Maintain and develop additional functionality to in-house tracking tools and provide periodic and ad-hoc reports to management
  • Assist trading management with ad-hoc requests and special projects
  • Create detailed documentation and training guides for tools and systems, and ensure all processes are clearly documented
  • Ensure departmental objectives are met by keeping current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-teaching and maintaining an understanding of new software development technologies

What You’ll Bring:

  • University Degree or College Diploma, preferably with programming experience
  • CFA (preferred)
  • High proficiency in Excel (including VBA or Office Scripts), data structuring and data analytics and visualization (Power BI, Python, SQL, Power Query, Tableau, or R)
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in programming, development, database design and related technologies
  • Ability to come up with solutions and technical design based on high level business requirements
  • Passionate about programming, technology, and improving processes
  • Proficient at quickly learning/understanding code to troubleshoot and fix bugs
  • Demonstrate maturity, credibility and sound judgment in dealing with senior management across business lines, risk management and support groups
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with constantly changing conditions
  • Self-starter and independent worker
  • Excellent time management
  • Team player with strong written, communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to prioritize amongst many competing deliverables at any given time

Work Arrangement:
This position is currently a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will work at least 3 days a week in the office.
