Job description
Team Horizon is seeking a Associate Scientist for our client based in Mayo. The Associate Scientist to join our Product Development, Science and Technology team on an initial 12 months fixed term contract working on 2 shift rotation (days and evenings).In this role you will support analytical testing for method development, method validations and investigations for existing and new AbbVie products. You will be required to independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner while demonstrating experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills, understanding of core disciplines.Why you should apply:

What you will be doing:
- Perform routine tasks competently, independently and generate reliable and consistent results.
- Analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations.
- Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
- Learn and understand new experimental techniques.
- Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques such as HPLC, GC and appropriately modify protocols, as required, to suit the changing needs of research or development sciences.
- Place data in proper scientific context by consulting and citing relevant literature.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in your field.
- Impact projects predominantly through lab and/or pilot plant based activities.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.
What you need to apply:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 3 or more years’ experience working in a Chemistry Laboratory or Master’s Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience)
- Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills with the ability to work independently
