In this role you will serve as the primary point of contact for the bank with a diverse group of clients with differing needs, and you will bring the best of RBC and RBCx to their doorstep.What will you do?

  • Manage, retain and grow our relationships with a portfolio of mostly boot-strapped tech clients through the delivery of an exceptional client experience (CX)
  • Become a trusted advisor to our clients and play a role as a partner in their growth
  • Understand each client’s business model, cash management needs and long-term goals to provide financial solutions, strategic advice and introductions to people or businesses that can help our clients, including RBC’s Treasury Solutions Specialists, Deposit Specialists, Capital Markets experts, Group Advantage experts, CNB Relationship Teams, and others
  • Apply a continuous-improvement approach to delivering a superior client experience.
  • Lead the KYC and AML processes, and achieve key portfolio quality metrics and facility compliance with all relevant internal policies

  • Passion for the tech sector: you want to play a role in Canada’s innovation economy.

We will forever be building, launching new products, and expanding our capabilities, and being able to embrace a constant state of improvement and innovation will be paramount.
  • Empathy for the unknown and ever-changing: a tech company’s needs can change often – and we need you to be comfortable with throwing plans out the window and going back to the drawing board when needed.
  • Some service and sales experience: at least 2 years of experience in a service and/or sales environment with strong communication and relationship management skills

Nice-to-have:

  • You may have been in the trenches before: experience as an entrepreneur, launching a business, working in a start-up, or advising/mentoring and working with early stage tech startups at an accelerator, incubator, or innovation hub, and/or previously working at a venture capital fund
  • You may have academic exposure through a post-secondary diploma/degree in commerce or business administration, or a sciences-related degree and/or related experience.
  • You have 2-5 years experience in in commercial lending or business banking
  • This isn’t your first time in a business development and/or client relationship management or client service role.
