Job description
To support the provision of audiology services provided by North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust at Peterborough City Hospital, Peterborough City Care Centre and Stamford Hospital.Providing administrative support and assisting Audiologists with allocated tasks including preparing patients and equipment, undertaking routine hearing aid maintenance and assisting in clinics. A significant part of this role involves assisting in childrens’ hearing assessment and hearing aid clinics.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will:-Assist in childrens hearing assessments and hearing aid clinics under the supervision of an Audiologist.Undertake routine hearing aid maintenance, including servicing of hearing aids, retubing ear moulds, and replacing batteries.Provide instruction to patients on use of hearing aids.To maintain accurate & comprehensive patient records in line with Trust & departmental standards.Assist Audiologists with clinic and patient preparation.Assist with administrative / clerical duties as required.Assist with stock monitoring and management, ordering supplies as necessary.Prepare, dispatch and receive ear moulds for manufacture.Take an active role in preparing and maintaining equipment.Be fully conversant with the Trusts computer systems including Auditbase, etrack and other systems as required.To demonstrate disability awareness, in particular the communication needs of the hearing impaired.Undertake training as appropriate and required.To develop knowledge and gain experience working towards an extended role in agreement with line manager.Maintain good working relationships with staff within the Audiology Department and as relevant in other Trust DepartmentsAbout usWe are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in our workforce and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, with a special focus on welcoming individuals from disabled, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as well as those from our local area.In line with our dedication to employee support, we offer a variety of benefits.
