An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Lincolnshire Baby Feeding Team as one of our Baby Feeding Practitioners. This role will be a fixed term contract until the end of March 2026.The successful candidate will ideally have had personal experience of breastfeeding or, if not, significant experience of supporting women to breastfeed. The post holders will work with parents across North Lincolnshire to raise awareness of the importance and benefits of breastfeeding, particularly in the antenatal period. They will support all women to initiate and continue to breastfeed for as long as they wish with a focus on families in our most deprived communities.Breastfeeding is an important public health issue because it promotes health, prevents disease and helps contribute to reducing health inequalities. If you are passionate about breastfeeding and extending your knowledge and skill base to support, educate and inform the families in our care, then this may be the opportunity you are looking for. If successful, you will be an integral part of our team and an important part of the infant and their family’s development.The role includes providing education and support to mothers in both the antenatal and postnatal periods, within the hospital environment as well as in the home and community settings.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of working within a multi-agency partnership and have the ability to work collaboratively and creatively. They will work closely with the Baby Feeding Team Leader, Baby Feeding Team Senior Practitioner, existing Baby Feeding Team Practitioners and volunteer peer supporters as well as other local authority services and external organisations.
