An exciting band 6 opportunity has arisen at Yeovil District Hospital, working in a busy and forward thinking radiology department.We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated radiographer who is passionate about projectional imaging, with good leadership and organisational skills.Yeovil District Hospital demonstrates high standards in patient safety, staff well being, and clinical governance.We offer a robust preceptorship programme and a wide range of CPD opportunities, both within the department and through the online learning platform for the trust.The trust has a supportive well being programme available to all staff, and the department has well being champions offering immediate support.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will co-ordinate x-ray services liaising with the Site Lead Yeovil and the Deputy Clinical Lead Radiography, Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers, HCAs, Porters, Clerical staff and other relevant staff as required.To take a leading role in the specialised team performing plain film imaging.To work unsupervised & independently to provide high standard plain film imaging within written protocols and guidelines.To remain updated of both local and national changes of practice which may lead to departmental service developments.To undertake student assessments.   • Degree of equivalent in diagnostic radiography.
  • Registered with the HCPC.

Desirable

  • Post Graduate CPD.

ExperienceEssential

  • Minimum of 18 months post qualification radiographic experience.

Desirable

  • NHS experience.
  • The ability to work unsupervised.
  • Working with and supervising student radiographers.

Additional CriteriaEssential

  • Ability to plan and prioritise own and departmental workload.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Flexible attitude to service provision and enthusiasm for change and new ways of working.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • Ability to head and work as part of a small team.

Desirable

  • Detailed knowledge of general radiography techniques, x-ray and IT equipment, medical terminology, radiation regulations and image appearances.
  • Previous Image Interpretation Courses for example red dot courses.
