Tradewind are recruiting! School based Behaviour Support Assistant needed in the Bury area. Role Overview:Start ASAP.Full time & long term.Hours are 8:30am-3:30pmGreat pay up to £95/day for the first 12 weeks.Equal pay to perm staff in same role from 13th week onwards.Could turn permanent eventually for the right person. Supporting secondary aged pupils in small groups with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).Based at a secondary alternative education provisions school in the Bury area catering for young people aged 11-16 that struggle within mainstream settings and have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).Work as a small team with the class teacher and other support assistants.Really get to know your students and build meaningful and impactful relationships while improving their life chances.Providing support on a one-to-one basis or in small groupsAssisting students with literacy, numeracy, and general subject knowledgeCollaborating with the SEN team, senior leaders, heads of departments, parents and carers, social workers, and other professionals in the child’s multidisciplinary team.Make a real difference to young people in your area! Requirements:To succeed in this Behaviour Support Assistant role in Bury, you must:Have the legal right to work in the UK.Provide a CV with a full history and no gaps.Have a DBS on the Update Service (or be prepared to get a new one).Minimum of two professional references.Overseas Police Checks (if applicable).Some experience supporting teenagers or young adults with challenging behaviour or mental health needs. Candidates with experience as a Secondary Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, Sports Coach, Pastoral Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Youth Justice or other role within Alternative Provision could be ideal for this opportunity.
