- Position: SEMH & SEN Teaching Assistant (Boys’ School)
- Working Hours: Monday 08:30-17:00, Tuesday-Friday 08:30-16:00, term time only
- Location: Rural area between Billingshurst and Horsham
- Salary: £127 per day, temp to perm contract (12 working weeks) – not pro-rata once perm
- Driver: Essential, as the school is in a rural area

No formal qualifications are required—just the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and a passion for helping students succeed.What You’ll Do:
- Support boys aged 6 to 18 with SEMH needs, SEN, and mental health challenges.
- Apply behaviour management strategies to foster a positive, structured learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one and group support during lessons, activities, and interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, counsellors, and therapists to create a holistic support system for students.
- Help maintain a calm and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic progress.
Who We’re Looking For:We value the right mindset and transferable skills over formal qualifications. While Mental Health qualifications are not required, the following qualities will help you thrive:
- Experience working with young people, especially those with SEMH needs, SEN, or mental health challenges.
- A background in or interest in psychology, counselling, or therapy (a bonus, not essential).
- Empathy, resilience, and adaptability to respond to each student’s unique needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations with patience.
- Life experiences or a strong understanding of SEMH and SEN to connect with students meaningfully.
