RK&K is hiring a Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Baltimore, MD. As the Benefits Specialist at RK&K, you will be responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.Basic Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS system to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Research and coordinate file errors from vendor file feeds.
- Assists with new-hire orientation.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Process of life status changes.
- Maintains Dependent Verification process.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, and FMLA.
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
- Assists with the annual open enrollment process.
- Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
- Coordinates changes with payroll.
- Handles beneficiary designation process Assists with the required annual notifications to participants.
- Coordinates benefits education sessions and monthly lunch and learns.
- Maintains appropriate level of discretion and confidentiality on benefits matters.
- Provides customer service for employees who need assistance navigating HRIS system.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 3+ years of experience working with health and welfare benefits plans, and retirement plan administration.
- Fluent with FMLA laws and state-specific leave laws.
- Strong communication and presentation skills – this position will work directly with vendors, executive and employees – professionally presenting information on a regular basis.
- Experience with administration and auditing benefits information in HRIS systems, ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office/Office365 – especially Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, Finance or related is preferred, not required
