Job description
NSB Recruitment have an exciting opportunity in Corporate Biodiversity for a Biodiversity Business Manager, working globally for a UK-based charity.
As specialist centre on biodiversity, my client leads global efforts in shaping policies and solutions to address the crisis facing nature. This role will enable you to join their growing Nature Economy and IBAT teams, where you’ll play a pivotal role at the intersection of biodiversity and the private sector.
Location – Cambridgeshire/Flexible Home Working
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Lead IBAT’s business development, managing a team of programme officers
- Develop sector-specific outreach strategies targeting key sectors of the economy
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships to drive business expansion
- Oversee marketing and communication activities, delivering virtual and in-person demonstrations
- Collaborate with stakeholders, build capacity, and represent IBAT globally at relevant events
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Develop Business Development and Marketing Plans with quarterly KPIs
- Manage IBAT’s team, ensuring their support for ongoing growth
- Establish strategic partnerships and alliances to drive business expansion
- Develop a pipeline of innovative user-facing products in IBAT
- Deliver virtual and in-person demonstrations of IBAT to potential subscribers
- Oversee IBAT’s user support, training, marketing, and communication activities
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in biodiversity, environmental sustainability, economics, or international business
- Robust understanding of biodiversity and conservation principles
- Proven experience in business and biodiversity-related topics
- Business development experience, preferably in a commercial or finance sector
Team management experience * Strategic expertise with analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Initiative, energy, creativity, and flexibility
- Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (fluency is essential)
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
Desirable
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant field
- In-depth knowledge of IBAT datasets
- Experience in an international conservation NGO
- Experience in marketing and sales plans for technology-based products
- Fluency in other languages, particularly Spanish or French
