The Green Campus project at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) is seeking a dedicated Research Associate to support the establishment and management of a regenerative agriculture field on campus. This role involves conducting soil sampling and analysis, implementing sustainable management practices, and coordinating field activities. The selected candidate will be responsible for generating technical reports, participating in monthly progress meetings, and collaborating with crop leaders to apply regenerative agriculture strategies effectively.
The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia.
Key Responsibilitiesu202F
- Establish and manage a regenerative agriculture plot within the CIAT campus.
- Support in the coordination and planning of farming activities.
- Conduct soil sampling and analysis, ensuring accurate data collection across different areas of the campus.
- Record, analyze and report results from field activities through the available platform Trimble.
- Participate in monthly meetings to present progress and discuss strategy improvements.
- Engage with crop leaders to ensure the effective integration of regenerative agriculture practices into the Green Campus Initiative.
- Develop and assess KPIs for regenerative agriculture practices tested in the field.
Requirements
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in agronomic engineering or related fields, ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.u202F
- Experience in regenerative agriculture and/or soil management.
- Knowledge of soil analysis and sustainable management techniques.
- Ability to coordinate teams and manage field activities.
- Strong skills in generating technical reports and documenting findings.
- English level intermediate to advanced level.

This call is of national scope, classified at level BG06 within a 14-level scale, with level 14 being the highest.This is a national recruitment process in Colombia and will be administered through a fixed-term contract of one (1) year, subject to a probation period in accordance with local legislation. The contract may be renewed based on performance and the availability of resources.
