Job description
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records for our company. You will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and has a strong understanding of accounting principles.Key Responsibilities:Maintain accurate financial records by recording day-to-day financial transactions.
Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable.
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents.
Manage payroll functions
Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with the accounting team and provide support during audits.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial filing systems.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Certification in bookkeeping (e.g., CPB Canada) is an asset.
