Here’s what you will do as Bookkeeper:
Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Bookkeeper will play an important role in managing the bookkeeping functions of the company, maintaining accurate financial records, interacting with internal and external customers and completing various administrative / clerical tasks and projects.

  • Full cycle bookkeeping activities (i.e. AP, AR, bank transactions, adjusting invoice entries, payment processing, review and allocate expenses, daily order entries, journal entries, etc.)
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements and A/P invoices;
  • Reconcile customer invoicing, and A/R reports;
  • File corporate GST/HST tax returns monthly and quarterly;
  • Process timely pay for local and overseas vendors;
  • Review journal entries and monthly general ledger reconciliations;
  • Maintain accurate financial records;
  • Complete ad hoc reports as required;
  • Collaborate with internal business partners on purchasing and payment discrepancies;
  • Communicate with clients, vendors and suppliers regarding purchasing and payments;
  • General administrative / clerical work (i.e. creating procurement POs, etc.)
  • Special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of the Company.

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful as Bookkeeper:

  • Diploma in accounting or relevant field;
  • 2-4 years of bookkeeping experience with a solid understanding of General Accounting principles. Experience in manufacturing an asset;
  • Proficient in QuickBooks / SAGE and MS Office Suite (including Excel);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as cross-functional teams;
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, investigative, and analytical skills;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to effectively prioritize workflows and meet deadlines;
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability;
  • Strong ability to maintain filing systems and databases;
  • Flexible, adaptable and open to wearing many hats in our small, nimble and growing business.
