Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The RBC Dominion Securities RBP25 Branch located in downtown Toronto is looking for a Branch Operations Manager (BOM) to join their team! As a member of the branch management team of one of the largest RBC DS branches in Canada, this opportunity fulfills an important leadership role in the people management and operations of a large-scale wealth management office. The BOM role is responsible for leading and coaching all support staff in the branch including creating a positive work environment and cultivating a performance-oriented culture. In addition to overseeing all operational and administrative support of the branch to ensure compliance and audit requirements are met, the BOM fulfils a diverse role which includes liaising with internal departments, providing software and process-related training, and managing the branch facilities and equipment.What will you do?

  • Support in the implementation of the Branch Director’s vision and ensure branch is efficiently and effectively managed.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, performance management and supervision of branch support staff.
  • Lead and support two Assistant BOMs in the management of the daily administrative operations of the branch including approval of incoming and outgoing daily transactions, verify and action request submitted by sales support staff, verify documentation and approve account openings, etc.
  • Assist with training new branch support staff and coordinate ongoing training initiatives for existing branch staff.
  • Ensure compliance and internal control requirements are met.
  • Branch technology access, setup, and troubleshooting.

What do you need to succeed?Must-have

  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH) in order to obtain Investment Representative (IR) licensing.
  • People management experience including exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively manage and coach support staff.
  • Demonstrated work experience in brokerage / wealth management industry including strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • A professional approach to all situations to create a positive working environment.
  • Ability to complete duties independently seeking out own answers and solutions.

  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures, an asset
