Due to recent contract growth, exciting opportunities for experienced Multi Task Operatives (MTOs) have been created at our operation in Bridgwater, Hinkley Logistics Hub. These are key roles that will be central to the successful delivery of a contract where Wincanton are providing warehousing and transport services for equipment being delivered in for the construction of Hinkley Point.

The primary role of our MTOs is to operate in a warehouse environment carrying out general day-to-day duties such as inbound receipts, order picking and despatch. Working within a safety-first culture, the successful candidates will be part of a new and exciting operation, whereby a strong team working approach is essential.

Hours of work may vary as is necessary to support the contract. Whilst flexibility is required, these will primarily be between Monday to Friday but with weekend working upon request from site management. Shift based working may be required as the Operation matures.

There may also be a requirement to work at other facilities as required in the local area inclusive of the Hinkley Point site itself. Following any offer of employment, to work in our operations each individual needs to complete the HPC site vetting process and pass the CITB HS&E Operatives test. Support & guidance will be given throughout the process

The role reports into the Shift Leader.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of working within a warehouse environment
  • Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make recommendations for improvement
  • Enthusiastic, committed and able to respond positively to changing demands
  • MHE license(s) desirable but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidates
  • Career progression will be available for the right candidates

Future plans:

There is potential that this role will move to a shift pattern in the up and coming months: 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00. As a dynamic and fast moving organisation our aim is to keep up with customer demand and to do so this may require flexibility in future.
