What you will be doing!
- Support developing and maintaining Capital report templates, including Cost Reports, Monthly Performance Reports (MPRs) and portfolio EVMS metrics dashboards
- PowerBI: partner with Senior Business Analyst for creating reports, updating data and analyzing output to ensure accuracy of information; act as first point of contact in Capital for troubleshooting. Will escalate to the Senior Business Analyst when appropriate.
- Supporting the Mission with ensuring that Capital-specific procedures are in alignment with Program Management Office and company procedures
- Supporting the development of the Annual Program of Work and Budget (APWB) for Capital Mission. Key activities include: developing annual budgets, schedules and commitments.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the 5 and 10 Year Plan for Capital Projects
- Supporting monthly and annual monitoring and reporting on APWB and Performance Evaluation Monitoring Plan (PEMP) commitments.
- Supporting generating monthly project schedule and cost performance reports. This includes assisting the projects with the analysis of Performance and Cost data reports and variances on a monthly basis. Support the Capital mission with trend implementation and improvements to Fiscal Year and lifecycle Estimates at Complete
- Analyzing Capital project performance; consider and recommend corrective actions, including cost re-profiling, resource demand and risk assessment.
- Supporting presentation and briefing notes preparation activities, for informing senior managers about planning and performance related issues.
What we are looking for:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as economics, finance, or business is desired; at minimum a Diploma in business management is required.
- A minimum of four (4) years’ of progressive, relevant experience with business planning and administration is required
- A minimum of two (2) years’ of experience is required with EVMS implementation, financial and developing business operations / performance reports to clearly articulate emerging issues and communicate planned courses of action.
- Experience in monitoring and tracking project execution and financial performance against plan.
- Demonstrated experience in a business management, policy analysis and in establishing and maintaining working relationships is needed
- Knowledge and experience with processes such as Request for Sanctioning and Project Change Requests
- Experience with Primavera scheduling software including analytical and reporting skills is a must.
- Experience with Cobra is an asset.
- Candidates must have demonstrated experience in working with multi-disciplinary subjects/topics involving organizing, planning, coordinating, assessing, analyzing and presenting information and ideas.
- Experience in reviewing strategic issues/topics and developing and writing business plans, reports, presentation packages, briefing notes and annotated agendas.
- Ability to lead the development of complex reports with documenting, forecasting, analyzing investigating and interpreting and providing recommendations
- Proactively coordinate and assemble reports from multiple stakeholders
- Competence and successful experience in planning and reporting within a team environment.
- Competence and successful experience in budget planning, review, and portfolio management.
- Analytical skills in specifically in the fields of fiscal year and project life budgeting, schedule analytics/quality management
- Knowledge of advanced business planning and reporting methodologies, especially on a larger construction project for example, would be an advantage.
- Solid understanding of the interaction of projects, operations, engineering, accounting, procurement and other support groups to fulfil site missions is desired
- Knowledge of planning and schedule development and reporting methodologies, processes and tools.
- Knowledge of EVMS guidelines is required.
- Knowledge of project management software (P6, Cobra, PCRS, etc) and interdependency between them
- Experience working with MS Office Software, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Power BI is an asset
Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.

Location of Work – Hybrid
- This role is based out of CNL’s Chalk River site, however, subject to the terms of this agreement, the primary work location will be remote. The role will require some regular and frequent attendance at the Chalk River site. The schedule and frequency will be determined by discussions with the manager as well as internal client and project needs. CNL may require travel from time to time, as necessary.
