Position Objective:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) has the overall responsibility for new car, pre-owned car, service and parts performance of the assigned region. Based on specific KPIs, the BDM will steer and develop Porsche Centres of their assigned region. This is a multifaceted role in which the BDM will have to demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and management skills combined with the confidence to inspire and motivate a geographically dispersed stakeholder group.This position will be based out of Ontario and will support Porsche Centres in both Ontario, as well as other provinces.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the attainment of new vehicle retail, pre-owned sales, service and parts sales objectives on a monthly and yearly basis by individual model line and by dealer
  • Conducts on-site dealer visits and provides dealer feedback to Porsche Cars Canada (PCL) departments
  • Reviews and analyzes Porsche KPIs for all business areas in order to identify growth opportunities and ensure sustainable long-term dealer profitability
  • Manages annual dealer business related to the Performance margin and Premier Dealer Scorecard
  • Implements dealer action plans and ensures deliverables are documented via contact reports and followed up
  • Supports roll-out of Dealer Strategy and supports monitoring of progress
  • Monitors and discusses Marketing scorecard KPI achievement
  • Supports implementation of new business fields
  • Monitors utilization of Sales Funnel (Leads/Order Intake/Order Bank)
  • Aligns with internal stakeholders e.g. Sales Programs, Marketing, Retail Development to identify opportunities to further grow and optimize dealer performance
  • Aligns specifically with the Director, After Sales to ensure After Sales Business Development focus

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree / college diploma with specialization in automotive or equivalent experience required, MBA an advantage.

Experience

(Job and Industry):

  • 7+ years experience in the areas of automotive wholesale Sales, After Sales, Marketing, Market Representation and/or Business Management. Retail automotive experience a plus.
  • 4+ years of previous relevant field experience (in-dealership contacts) required.
  • Parts and service background will be a plus.

Skills:

  • Varying amounts of overnight travel is required/participation in special events (auto shows/dealer-customer events) during evenings/weekends may be required
  • Ability to work independently as well as in (local and international) teams
  • Leadership skills to coordinate and implement regional/district initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal storytelling / presentation skills
  • Extensive analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to develop and articulate an operational strategy for regional team and assigned dealers
  • Ability to effectively negotiate or mediate difficult situations, with ability to work collaboratively at all levels of a multi-cultural organization
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy & time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Focuses on continuous quality and performance improvements
  • Superior computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
